As part of The Big Picture: Resilience, a public art project led by award-winning photo-journalists Carl Juste and C.W. Griffin, fifteen community members have been working to document resiliency and healing through photographs and writing. The participants, who were selected after submitting an application, attended workshops to learn the art of photo-journalism. Five of the 15 will be followed by the Juste and Griffin and all of the participants’ work will be documented in a public display at the Parkland Recreation and Enrichment Center ahead of the 2-year commemoration of the tragedy at MSD.
All images submitted in the competition will be juried by Carl Juste.
To broaden the project, we are inviting all residents of Coral Springs and Parkland to submit their own photographs they believe represent resilience or healing. Submitted images will be included on the Power of Art website and shared on the Cities’ social media sites. All submissions must be accompanied by a caption and include a completed release (Download Release From).
