Resources, Hotlines and Helpful Information

Did you know that you do not have to have been present at the time of the shooting to need help or use most of these resources?

Do not hesitate to use these resources, that’s what they are here for.

If you are not sure if you should call, call. If you are not sure what to say, call anyway.
Once you call, they can help you figure out if you need that resource or a different one, and help you figure out what you need to say.

I’d prefer to text with someone

Text “Hello” to 741741 (the Crisis Text Line number) to talk with a trained crisis volunteer.  They have responded to over 20 million messages since the text line began in 2013.

I need to talk to someone now

Parkland Cares: 954-740-MSD1 – M-F, 9-6. Free and confidential.

Teen Hotline: 954-567-TEEN

National Youth Crisis Hotline: (800) 442-HOPE (4673)

I’d like help finding a therapist

Ask your potential therapist about their experience helping clients like you, what you can expect in a session, and what you can expect to pay.

Professionals United for Parkland:

This locally based group provides referral form on their website for help in finding a therapist, support group or other resource, especially as related to the impact of the shooting at MSD.

Art Therapist Locator:

Art therapy can be an effective way to learn coping skills, and express things that are difficult to put into words. Use this website to find a credentialed art therapist.

Parkland Cares:

Parkland Cares is an easy way for people who need help to get connected with the community service providers that can help them.
